HISTORY
The Colonial has been
known as the longest
operating Pizza business
in the Lehigh Valley.
We've been in business
for 67 years and are still
going strong, providing a
great place to come and
enjoy great food with a
relaxed family
atmosphere.
The rich history of the
Colonial goes way beyond
what it is today.
While back in the 1930's
and 40's the building
was used as a grocery
store
and a confectionary,
however the building was
actually built
back in the 1800's.
In approximately 1853,
building owner Henry Werkheiser replaced the
front of the stone
building with the
present brick wall.
Accordingly, the
original stone house is
probably much older than
the 1850s.
Come see the "gun port"
in the dining room
restroom which was known
to be used by solders to
protect their post.
If you don't believe us,
just ask one of the
"spirit's" that still
wander around our place
to this day! ("Sarah" is
the playful one!") So
come join us and love
not only our pizza, but
the great feeling you
get by being a part of
our rich heritage.
